Challenge

A silent video plays on loop on the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy’s home page. According to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, a text or audio alternative must be provided for video-only content.

Solution

Caleb wrote a video transcript as an accessible alternative, following WCAG’s procedure to ensure that the transcript met WCAG’s success criteria. For inspiration, Caleb watched samples of audio descriptions provided by the American Council of the Blind, including a clip from The Lion King.
